    The Santa Maria in Via Lata features remarkable traces of Italian history throughout its rooms. View the remains of a Roman portico, or experience the spirituality of the oriental monks. They lived in the church from the 7th to the 11th century. You’ll experience rich historic artworks as well as breathtaking architecture both in the church and below in the crypts.

    Crypta - the Crypta reveals an intriguing aspect of the undergrounds of Rome. Explore the depths of this first-century building, in which a monastery has been established since the fifth century. View fragments of frescoes from the seventh-ninth century. Then, discover an ancient tradition recognized by the house of St. Luke, the presence of St. Peter and the prison of St. Paul.
